China Blasts U.S. Over Strikes on Iran Nuclear Sites
“China strongly condemns the US attacks on Iran and bombing of nuclear facilities under the safeguards of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency),” the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated in an official release from Beijing.
“China strongly condemns the US attacks on Iran and bombing of nuclear facilities under the safeguards of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency),” the Foreign Ministry noted in a remark from Beijing.
Beijing specifically urged “Israel in particular” and other parties to embrace a cease-fire, safeguard civilian lives, and engage in constructive negotiations to prevent further bloodshed.
The situation in the region intensified after U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Sunday that American forces had launched "very successful" airstrikes targeting three Iranian nuclear sites located in Fordo, Natanz, and Esfahan. The announcement has sparked fears of a broader military confrontation in the region.
In response, Tehran appealed to the United Nations Security Council to urgently assemble and denounce the airstrikes, pressing for accountability for what it described as blatant violations of international law.
The conflict traces back to June 13, when Israel launched coordinated air assaults on multiple Iranian locations, including military and nuclear targets. Iran retaliated with missile strikes soon after.
Israeli officials report that Iranian missile attacks have resulted in the deaths of at least 25 people and injuries to hundreds more.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Health Ministry reports that the Israeli bombardment has killed 430 people and left more than 3,500 injured.
