Zelenskyy Awaits Geneva Talks Report

(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday stated that he anticipates a comprehensive report from Kyiv’s delegation regarding the Geneva discussions with US officials “within the next hour.”

He noted that Ukraine will decide its forthcoming actions based on the findings and ongoing collaboration with European partners.

Zelenskyy mentioned on Telegram that he had a telephone conversation with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, during which they reviewed current diplomatic initiatives as Kyiv’s delegation “returns home” from Geneva.

He subsequently revealed that he also spoke by phone with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who is attending the EU-African Union Summit in Angola.

During the call, he updated Sanchez on the Geneva meetings and their preliminary results.

“Ukraine is receiving significant attention there, and I am grateful for this support,” Zelenskyy remarked, emphasizing that the participation of other European leaders in discussions with the American team is “important” as decisions on collective security are being formulated.

“Our delegation is now returning home, and I am expecting a full report … on the progress of the talks in Geneva and the principal emphases of our partners,” he added.

“Based on these reports, we will determine the next steps and the timing. We will continue coordinating with Europe and other partners around the world,” Zelenskyy concluded.

The telephone conversations occurred as senior US and Ukrainian officials convened in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss the US proposal aimed at promoting peace efforts in Ukraine, according to news agencies.
