Chinese President Holds Talks with Spain’s PM in Beijing

(MENAFN) Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Beijing on Tuesday, according to state media reports.

No additional details of the meeting were immediately released.

Sanchez arrived in China on Saturday for a five-day visit, marking his fourth trip to the country since taking office.

The visit is centered on strengthening economic cooperation, increasing strategic trust between the two countries, and expanding collaboration in areas such as trade, technology, and green energy.

The trip comes roughly five months after Spain’s King Felipe VI visited China, the first official visit by a Spanish monarch in 18 years.

Bilateral trade between Spain and China exceeded $55 billion last year, with China remaining Spain’s largest trading partner outside the European Union.
